Description
A thick, creamy, and high-protein breakfast smoothie made with just five simple ingredients. This recipe keeps you full until lunch and takes only 5 minutes to prepare.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large ripe banana (about 120g), preferably frozen
- 1 cup milk (almond, oat, or dairy)
- 1 scoop protein powder (25-30g, vanilla or chocolate)
- 2 tablespoons natural peanut butter
- 1/2 cup ice (optional, if using fresh banana)
Instructions
- Prep the banana: If using fresh bananas, peel and break into chunks, then freeze. If using frozen bananas, take them out of the freezer.
- Add liquid to blender: Pour the milk into the blender first to help the blades spin freely.
- Add solids: Add the protein powder, peanut butter, and frozen banana chunks. If using fresh banana, add ice now.
- Blend until smooth: Start on low speed, then gradually increase to high. Blend for 30-60 seconds until completely smooth and creamy.
- Adjust consistency: If too thick, add a splash of milk. If too thin, add more ice or banana.
- Serve immediately: Pour into a glass and drink right away for the best texture.
Notes
For the best texture, freeze ripe bananas beforehand. Stir natural peanut butter before measuring to incorporate separated oil. Add liquid to the blender first to prevent jamming. Smoothies are best served immediately as they separate quickly.
