Description
A dense, fudgy, and warm chocolate brownie that cooks in just two minutes in the microwave. This single-serving dessert requires no mixing bowls, minimal cleanup, and uses simple pantry staples for instant gratification.
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 3 tablespoons milk (whole milk recommended)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or melted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon chocolate chips (optional topping)
Instructions
- Add flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt to a microwave-safe mug. Whisk dry ingredients together to remove lumps.
- Pour in milk, melted butter (or oil), and vanilla extract. Mix with a fork until the batter is smooth and resembles thick chocolate pudding.
- Toss in chocolate chips and push them slightly into the batter.
- Microwave on high for 60 seconds. Check if the top is set but still slightly shiny/moist in the center. If needed, cook for another 15-30 seconds. Do not overcook.
- Let the brownie sit in the mug for 1-2 minutes to cool and firm up before eating.
Notes
Microwave power varies; start with 60 seconds and check frequently to avoid a dry texture. Let the brownie rest for 1-2 minutes after cooking to allow it to set and cool slightly. For a vegan version, use plant-based milk, coconut oil, and vegan chocolate chips. For gluten-free, substitute with a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend.
