Game Day Sriracha Honey Chicken Wings

  • Author: Rhea
  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

A crowd-pleasing, sticky, and spicy chicken wing recipe that requires only a few simple ingredients. Perfect for game day or any gathering, these wings are baked to crispy perfection and tossed in a sweet and savory sriracha honey glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 to 4 pounds chicken wings (party style, drumettes and flats)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon seasoning salt
  • 1/2 cup sriracha sauce
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
  2. Pat chicken wings completely dry with paper towels. Toss wings in a large bowl with vegetable oil and seasoning salt until lightly coated.
  3. Arrange wings in a single layer on the wire rack, ensuring they do not touch. Bake for 45-50 minutes, flipping halfway through, until skin is golden brown and crispy and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  4. While wings bake, make the glaze: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine sriracha, honey, minced garlic, lime juice, and melted butter. Stir constantly until smooth and bubbling (3-4 minutes). Remove from heat.
  5. Remove crispy wings from the oven. Place them in a large bowl and pour the warm glaze over them. Toss vigorously with tongs until every wing is coated.
  6. Return sauced wings to the wire rack and bake for another 5 minutes to set the glaze. Watch closely to prevent burning.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.

Notes

Dry wings thoroughly before baking to ensure crispiness. Use a wire rack to allow air circulation and prevent soggy bottoms. Warm the sauce before tossing to help it adhere. Do not overcrowd the pan. For a dairy-free version, substitute butter with olive oil or coconut oil. For extra heat, add cayenne pepper.
